IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART THAT WE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE ALL NATIONAL DANCE FINALS FOR KAR AND RAINBOW HAVE BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LIMITATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE AT ALL OF OUR NATIONAL DANCE FINALS VENUES. PLEASE KNOW THIS WAS NOT AN EASY DECISION BUT WE HONESTLY FEEL THE BEST DECISION FOR EVERYONE. THERE WAS NO WAY THE SAME EXPERIENCE YOU’VE COME TO LOVE AND EXPECT WHEN ATTENDING ONE OF OUR NATIONAL EVENTS WOULD HAVE LOOKED OR FELT THE SAME. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN OUR BELIEF AND MISSION STATEMENT TO PRODUCE A WORLD CLASS DANCE EVENT THAT CREATES A REWARDING EXPERIENCE FOR DANCERS, DANCE TEACHERS, PARENTS AND ALL ATTENDING GUESTS, THAT IS THE ULTIMATE REASON WHY WE MUST WAIT UNTIL 2021 TO DO IT RIGHT FOR EVERYONE!

We always look forward to watching the extraordinary talent during the regular portion of our National Finals competition, the tremendous National Title Competition, and the dazzling Star Showcase! These fantastic events are highlighted by exciting and thrilling performances from across the World.

If your postponed city is not listed above, we are still working diligently to reschedule. Once dates are available – we will notify you of the new dates.

Beloved KAR and Rainbow Dance Studios,

First and foremost, we would like to personally thank you for the continued loyalty and support, the cooperation you have shown during this “new normal” has definitely been appreciated and does not go unnoticed. The past several months have been unlike anything we have ever experienced, and it has encouraged us to evolve and think outside of the box. This thinking and “new normal” has meant servicing our clients in new ways, from virtual competitions to a complete reschedule of the 2020 Regional Season. We strive to continue to bring you the service and quality you expect, even if it may look a little different than it has in the past. As cities and states begin to share plans to reopen, we would like to share an update on our current situation and let you know how we are planning for the future:

With the health and well-being of all our employees and customers in mind, we have decided to keep KAR and Rainbow’s offices closed until further notice. This is due to the “safer at home” guidelines in the State of California for all non essential businesses. When we do reopen, more than anything we want you to feel safe and comfortable when you attend one of our many rescheduled events. We are making modifications to the overall experience you have come to love and appreciate over the years. Each city and venue location has provided health and safety guidelines that we intend to follow and make sure it allows all participating studios a safe yet enjoyable environment. Exact details will be provided and communicated to all studios as we get closer to the event date.

At this time, we are not able to offer a refund of your entries. We are able to offer a variety of options to apply as a credit to future scheduled events. We are asking for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate our way through this difficult and unprecedented time in history. KAR and Rainbow have not been able to receive or confirm assistance from the US Small Business Administration and we are only able to present the many options listed below. We truly understand this may not be the exact answer or solution you and your studio are looking for, however after many discussions and meetings with various professional organizations and counsel, these are the suitable options we are able to extend.

1. Apply your credit to a NEW Virtual Dance Competition
2. Register for any rescheduled summer or fall competition
3. Attend a Nationals event! (At this time KAR Myrtle Beach is still scheduled to take place. We’re waiting for final confirmation from the venues to make sure these events are able to move forward.)
4. Participate in a fall KAR Convention
5. Enroll your studio in an exclusive “In House KAR Dance Convention”
6. You have the ability to transfer funds between our brands. (KAR and Rainbow)
7. Register for a Virtual Nationals – details coming soon
8. Transfer all funds to a 2021 Regional Event
9. All graduating Seniors from your studio will receive a full refund of their entries. The refund will be processed in late August. Please contact us for additional details.
10. Transfer Regional Registration To Another Competition Working Together As Industry Partners: KAR maintains alliances with several well-respected dance competitions throughout the country. We are working with those partners to offer alternative options to you. If this option is of interest to you, please contact us for further information.

RESCHEDULED TOUR: Please also check out our website for updated information regarding our rescheduled 2020 Regional Competition Tour. We are thrilled to see so many states across the nation begin to slowly open their doors for business. It will be a slow and gradual process and we hope to resume seeing dancers grace our stage beginning the weekend of June 26, 2020. Please understand that due to our offices still being closed and due to a complete reduction of office team members we continue to only be able to communicate to dance studio owners. We are unable to respond to emails and calls from parents.
